Fresha is a SaaS-enabled marketplace platform for beauty and wellness industry.

Acuity Scheduling and Fresha are both cloud-based services for online booking and schedule management. Both allow small businesses in service industries to manage client database, appointment history, send automatic notifications (confirmations and reminders), support online booking forms and integrate with payment systems.

But Acuity Scheduling (founded in 2006) is a Squarespace-owned service that suits a wide range of businesses (salons, fitness centers, clinics, veterinarians, lawyers, tutors, etc.). It supports HIPAA compliance for healthcare and group classes for education. The service allows to sell packages, subscriptions and gift certificates. Also it can sync with Google, Outlook and iCloud calendars.

Fresha (2015) is a British service focused on the beauty industry. Its business model is that the core service is free, but it takes a commission on payment transactions. It allows to manage salon marketing: send newsletters, run promotions and loyalty programs. Fresha is not only a SaaS for salons but also a marketplace where clients can search, read reviews and book services. The service is available in over 120 countries and translated to multiple languages.
