Fresha vs Mindbody

Fresha and Mindbody are both cloud-based software for beauty salons, wellness centers and spa studios that need to automate client booking and staff scheduling. Both offer tools for marketing, customer communications (notifications, reminders), integration with payment systems and mobile apps so clients can book online. Both operate on the global market.

But Fresha (launched in 2015) is a British (mostly free) service for solo practitioners and small salons that charges a commission on payments from clients received via their marketplace. It has a simpler and more user-friendly interface that requires no training. Thanks to its freemium model, Fresha is more popular, it works in over 120 countries and is translated to many languages.

Mindbody (2001) is an American online system without a marketplace and with higher rates. However, it offers more features for salons: powerful marketing tools, client analytics, workflow automations. It's more suitable for larger companies with multiple locations, more complex schedules, wellness courses, loyalty programs and a variety of service formats. Mindbody allows to create branded mobile apps, web widgets and integrations with company's website.
