Fresha ($219M)
Fresha
Fresha is a SaaS-enabled marketplace platform for beauty and wellness industry.
Vagaro ($163M)
Vagaro
Vagaro is an online platform that allows its users to find salons and spas in their local area and make appointments online.

Fresha and Vagaro are both apps for beauty salons, spas and wellness centers. They offer scheduling, client management, online booking, sending automatic reminders to clients via email, SMS or push notifications. They also allow to manage staff and payroll, integrate with online calendars, payment gateways, accounting software and social networks. Both platforms operate internationally.

But Fresha (founded in 2015) is a free British app that includes a marketplace (which helps businesses attract new clients). It charges a commission on payments for orders that come from the marketplace. There's also a paid version with additional features: waiting list automation, team collaboration, inventory tracking, marketing reports. However, the primary focus is on the simplicity and convenience of the free version for a quick start. This makes the app very popular – it's used in over 120 countries and is translated to many languages.

Vagaro (2009) is an American platform with more extensive functionality for inventory management, POS, subscription management and customer surveys. It is convenient for automating network companies that need to control multiple locations and exchange data between them. It offers advanced marketing and branding capabilities: own website/widget builder, branded customer apps and newsletters. It offers more flexible scheduling and booking settings with quick time rescheduling, more advanced reporting. However, its subscription fee is significantly higher.
