Asana and Smartsheet are both cloud-based services for project management and team collaboration. They both work via web interface and mobile apps (iOS and Android), provide planning, reporting and progress visualization tools, enable creating templates for typical projects and integrate with popular work apps like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack.
But Asana (founded in 2008) has more simple and is easier to use. It supports various task views: simple list, Kanban board, calendar and timeline. I also includes some workflow automation tools. Asana is well-suited for marketing, design and software projects. Its free plan is functional enough for small teams and in general, Asana's pricing is more affordable.
