Both services are accessible via a web interface and have mobile apps.
But Shop Boss (founded in 2008) is a veteran of the market (in fact, it was the first web-based software for managing car repair shops). It has a wider range of functions: repair schedules, payment reminders, CRM and marketing tools, internal chat, VIN scanner, employee performance reports. It also has more integrations: with 360 Payments, AutoServe1 and others. It's also a little more expemsive: prices start at about US $200/month for a basic set of functions.

It also has good reporting capabilities, analytics, online booking and can send notifications to customers with status updates. It provides e-signatures for estimate approvals, letting customers agree to services from anywhere.
